My Birthday was approaching and I wanted to paint something that captured the variety of emotions that they start to bring as you get older. When we’re young the main emotion is typically just excitement, but with age you begin to feel different ways for different reasons. I’ve noticed everyone’s feeling about their Birthday becomes very mixed once in their 20’s and beyond.
